Dr. Chow is a native of Vancouver. After graduating from the University of British Columbia, he moved out east to obtain his optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in Ontario. His optometric training also included treatment and management of ocular disease during an internship in the United States. Dr. Chow practiced throughout the lower mainland (Vancouver, West Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Richmond, and Surrey) before deciding to establish his own practice in the Tri-Cities. His professional interests include children’s vision, binocular vision therapy, contact lenses, surgical and non-surgical vision correction with laser surgery and accelerated orthokeratology (AOK). With advances and new technologies in eye health, Dr. Chow keeps pace with the latest developments in the treatment and management of ocular disease (cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, retinal detachment, etc…). Dr. Chow is a member of the BC and the Canadian Association of Optometrists. Dr. Chow is Canadian Board certified in the treatment and management of ocular diseases.
LESLEY, CERTIFIED OPTOMETRIC ASSISTANT
Lesley has been working with Dr. Chow since 1998 as an optometric assistant and office manager. In 2009, Lesley received her Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant's designation and was presented with an Award of Merit for outstanding scholastic achievement, obtaining the highest overall score of her graduating class. Lesley will be happy to assist you with selecting your new frames and lenses from our diverse ophthalmic collection or help you with your contact lens fitting.
HELEN, CERTIFIED OPTOMETRIC ASSISTANT
Helen joined Shaughnessy Optometry in 2007 as our receptionist and optometric assistant. In 2009, she received her Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant's designation. Helen will be happy to set your appointment for an eye exam, assist with preliminary eye tests or help you with frame selection or contact lens training.
